Avoid The Breakers

May 24, 2012

When it comes to operating a boat safely, there is something even more important than insurance or regulations. That something is “common sense.”

Fortunately for anyone else who might think about trying their luck in the same way, a camera was on hand that day in New Brighton to record exactly why you shouldn’t.

The breakers are an extremely dangerous and volatile part of the sea and should be left to lifesaving professionals. As can be seen by the clip above, a heavy powerboat shouldn’t go anywhere near the breakers. Without even a lifejacket, this man not only put himself in danger but the nearby swimmers as well. A little common sense would have gone a long way.
